Initiatives

This year in partnership with Brooklyn-based 20-year veteran artist, Nahabi Roman and Morgan District Walls @morgandistrictwalls we focus our energies on community clean up and beautifying the border of Bushwick and East Williamsburg.

The artistic team at Morgan District will be holding monthly painting events like Ladies Spray Day this spring and throughout the summer 2024. We will be assisting them with fundraising, recruitment, and programming.

Together, we aim to recruit 30 service-learning volunteers this year, and estimate that about 2000 community members will benefit from this project as attendees, organizers, volunteers, artists, business owners. This initiative primarily falls under Arts & Culture, Economic Development, Education, Health & Wellness and Public Safety. Our project goals are aimed at community beautification, community service, cultural awareness, diversity and intergroup relations, economic justice, entrepreneurship training, environmental justice, financial counseling, food access, LGBTQ+, mental health care, music, performing arts, public arts, visual arts, elderly services, women’s rights, women’s services, and youth development.
