Behind the Scenes

Amina Tawasil is an experienced Brooklyn-based educator and practitioner since 1998. She is a firm believer in the revolutionary potential of practice and process, the power of local communities, and the force of a good unforgettable story. In the fall of 2021, she created Three Thousand Moons (TTM) with these foundational beliefs in mind. She is a published and trained anthropologist who holds a master’s degree from Stanford University and a doctorate from Columbia University’s Teachers College. She has been serving as a faculty lecturer at Teachers College since 2017.
